Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy

When we experience psychological stress or disturbances, our basic functioning, our behavior, as well as how we perceive ourselves and our environment can all be affected. We are no longer able to satisfy our basic needs and become burdened by symptoms of increased suffering. Functioning in everyday life is reduced or not possible at all.

The goal of psychotherapy is to understand and manipulate these basic functions of an individual’s experience and behavior and their corresponding thoughts, feelings and beliefs. As such, psychotherapy is a core component in treating mental illness and reducing its symptoms.

We carry out psychotherapy in individual as well as group therapy sessions. On request, we can also offer couples or family sessions. Group therapy succeeds through learning from one another and exchanging experiences of therapeutic effects.
